Amazon has introduced a new generation of Ring cameras and video doorbells powered by AI, bringing smarter home security and convenience to users.
One of the standout features is “Familiar Faces”, an AI tool that lets Ring devices recognize friends and family. Once enrolled, the camera will notify users when a familiar person is at the door, while also sending alerts if an unfamiliar visitor is detected—helping homeowners quickly make informed decisions.
Another highlight is “Search Party”, a community-powered feature designed to help locate lost pets. By registering a missing dog, nearby Ring users will receive notifications and can report sightings. The AI system suggests possible matches, making it easier to reunite pets with their owners. Support for cats and other pets will be added soon.
Amazon is also enhancing the experience with Alexa+, a smart doorbell assistant that can greet visitors, manage deliveries, and provide details before you even answer the door.
The new devices feature “Retinal Vision” imaging technology, delivering sharper video quality with continuous AI optimization. The lineup includes:
- Ring Retinal 2K: Indoor Cam Plus ($59.99) and Wired Doorbell Plus ($179.99)
- Ring Retinal 4K: Wired Doorbell Pro ($249.99), Outdoor Cam Pro ($199.99), Spotlight Cam Pro ($249.99), Floodlight Cam Pro ($279.99), and Wired Doorbell Elite ($499.99)
All products are available for preorder today. Familiar Faces and Alexa+ Greetings will roll out in December, while Search Party for dogs launches in November.
With these upgrades, Ring is not only making home security smarter with facial recognition, but also turning its devices into a community tool for safety and pet recovery.
