Amazon Brings Alexa+ to New Fire TV Devices With AI-Powered Conversations

At its fall hardware event, Amazon announced that Alexa+, its upgraded AI assistant, is coming to Fire TV devices. With Alexa+, users can have more natural, conversational interactions while watching TV—asking complex questions, getting personalized recommendations, and even diving into behind-the-scenes trivia.

Smarter Recommendations & Conversations

Previously, Alexa could suggest general content like “a good movie for family night.” Now, with Alexa+, Fire TV users can request recommendations based on past shows, favorite actors, or genres.

Viewers can also ask contextual questions while watching, such as:

  • “Where was this scene filmed?”
  • “What movie have I seen this actor in before?”
  • “Who did the soundtrack?”

During live sports, Alexa+ can share live scores, player stats, game highlights, and upcoming events across streaming platforms like Prime Video, Sling TV, DirecTV, and Fubo.

Another AI feature lets viewers jump directly to specific movie or show scenes using natural voice commands. This works with thousands of Prime Video titles and will expand to more services soon.

New Fire TV Devices & Features

Amazon also revealed a refreshed Fire TV lineup, including:

  • Fire TV Omni QLED Series – flagship TVs starting at $479.99, featuring Dolby Vision, HDR10+ Adaptive, 60% brighter displays, and “Omnisense” auto brightness adjustment. Available in 50″, 55″, 65″, and 75″.
  • Fire TV 4-Series – mid-range models starting at $329.99, also with Omnisense and new Dialogue Boost for clearer speech. Sizes: 43″, 50″, 55″.
  • Fire TV 2-Series – entry-level TVs from $159.99, available in 32″ and 40″.
  • Fire TV Stick 4K Select – a new $39.99 4K streaming stick with HDR10+ support, Vega OS, and soon, Alexa+ plus Xbox Cloud Gaming and Luna.

In 2025 alone, Amazon and its hardware partners launched 250 Fire TV models, and nearly 300 million Fire TV devices have been sold globally.
