Adobe Premiere Video Editing App Officially Launches on iPhone

Adobe has officially launched its popular video editing app Premiere on iPhones, giving mobile creators access to professional-grade tools. The Android version is currently in development, according to Adobe.

Key Features on Mobile

The free app includes a multi-track timeline for combining video, sound, music, and text, plus support for 4K HDR editing. Users can also auto-generate captions, adjust color and shadows per frame, and easily reduce background noise with a simple slider.

AI-Powered Editing

Adobe integrated AI features powered by Firefly, allowing users to:

  • Generate background sounds from prompts or even by humming.
  • Create stickers and transition videos from images.
  • Access Adobe’s stock library of photos, clips, and sounds at no extra cost.

While the app itself is free, AI-powered tools require credits for full access.

Seamless Workflow with Adobe Cloud

Mobile creators can start editing projects on iPhone and transfer them to Premiere desktop via Adobe Cloud. However, transferring from desktop to mobile is not supported yet.

Competing in Mobile Editing

With Premiere on iOS, Adobe is targeting the fast-growing market of mobile-first creators, competing directly with CapCut, Meta’s Edits, Captions, and InVideo.

“We want to empower all types of creators, especially the next generation that prefers editing on mobile,” said Mike Folgner, product director at Adobe.

Premiere joins Adobe’s expanding suite of mobile apps, including Photoshop for iOS/Android and Firefly Mobile.
